- LiFePO4 battery is with a better heat stability, uneasily occur thermal runaway. So LiFePO4 battery has good advantage in safety.
- Li-ion ternary battery is with a higher energy density than LiFePO4 battery, but easily occur thermal runaway. Ternary battery has a higher safety risk than LiFePO4.
Energy density:
- Li-ion ternary battery is with higher energy density, that means ternary battery can storage more energy than LiFePO4 battery in the same weight. So ternary battery can provide a longer mileage.
Life cycle:
- LiFePO4 is with a longer life cycle, reach 5000-6000 times, while li-ion ternary battery life cycle is about 2000-3000 times.
Cost:
- Cost of LiFePO4 is much lower than ternary battery. Cause ternary battery use expensive cobalt material.
Temperature adaptability:
- LiFePO4 batteries have poor low-temperature performance and are not suitable for use in low-temperature environments, while Li-ion ternary batteries have better low-temperature performance and can work normally in low-temperature environments
